History

The Rosses Community School was founded in 1973 with the amalgamation of the High School in Dungloe and the Vocational School in Loughanure. 


Mr Thomas J McGee was appointed as principal with Mr Daniel J Gallagher as Deputy Principal. In 1978 the new Rosses Community School building on the Chapel Road was officially opened by Mr Ray McSharry TD. In 1988 Mr Daniel Gallagher succeeded Mr Thomas J McGee as Principal and Mr Hugh Gillespie became Deputy Principal. 

The new school gymnasium and sports field were opened in 2004. In 2007 Mr John Gorman became the new Principal with Mrs Mary Forrestal as Deputy Principal.  

In November 2018 Mr Dáire Gillen became Deputy Principal.
